We are seeking qualified Arboricultural Officers to join our Parks, Countryside and Arboriculture service as we strive to deliver the best possible service for Dudley.

If you seek variety then you will enjoy working in Dudley, helping to ensure we manage our tree stock appropriately across 2 National Nature Reserves, 5 Local Nature Reserves, 38 parks and 201 designated open spaces.

You will work as part of the Arboricultural Team, using your knowledge and experience to provide professional and technical advice, contributing towards the strategic direction of the service and helping review the Borough’s Tree Strategy and the preparation of site management plans as appropriate. You will have responsibility for inspection and recording of tree stock as well as for raising programmed and ad-hoc maintenance, and meeting financial targets.

You will have the opportunity to gain line management experience and you will contribute to the devising and production of work specifications and contracts, assisting with the production of routine and ad-hoc reports relating to all aspects of the Arboricultural service.

You will form part of a 24 hour call out service operated by the team throughout the year.

How you work is as important to us as what you know. You will be able to communicate at all levels and be able to manage your own workload to meet deadlines and targets. You must also have a current driving licence.

• Please detail your experience of providing professional and technical advice to others (e.g. members of the public, statutory authorities, elected members)
