About the job

We are looking to appoint an Arboricultural Consultant on a fixed-term contract to act as maternity cover. The role would suit either someone with previous consultancy experience or someone who is looking to further develop their arboricultural career in a supportive environment.

The role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is open to new opportunities and innovative ways of working. You would sit within our 11-strong team of arboricultural experts, offering involvement in projects ranging from small scale risk assessment up to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. You would also work alongside TEP’s ecologists, landscape designers, land managers and environmental planners to build on our strength as a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

The role would include a significant proportion of site work across a wide range of land types and represents an excellent opportunity to develop your experience as a tree surveyor. You will be working under the management of one of our Senior Consultants to deliver a variety of contracts across private, government and utility sectors. You will also develop skills in consultancy, AutoCAD, budget management and contract administration.

Your regional TEP office would be in Market Harborough but the role is suitable for ‘hybrid working’ with time spent working from home in addition to attending an office. We can also make office space available full-time if preferred.

We envisage that this will be a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), although we are willing to consider flexible working arrangements, including part time working.

Please visit our website for more information and how to apply.

Preferred Skills

We would be pleased to hear from people with varying levels of experience, including graduates, with an opportunity to tailor a position around the successful candidate’s abilities. We would also consider the possibility to extend the contract, dependent on circumstance.

Membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
