We employ heritage specialists, landscape architects, environmental planners, and urban designers, landscape managers, ecologists, arboriculturists, and other professionals working on a wide-ranging portfolio.
TEP is run by 7 Directors and employs around 145 professional and technical staff. TEP’s head office is in Warrington, with offices in London, Market Harborough, Gateshead and Cornwall. TEP employs home-based staff in other parts of the country. TEP is passionate about creating quality places for the benefit of people, nature and business.
Our arboriculture, projects range from the inspection of a single tree, to nationally significant infrastructure projects and expert witness. We are project-led and our professional arboriculturists are accustomed to working alongside ecology, landscape, heritage and GIS specialists to identify practical and sustainable solutions that work for the place and for the client.
About the jobTEP’s arboriculture service is well established and has always been a core part of our business. The team has grown steadily to deliver a diverse range of projects across all major sectors throughout the UK and we are now seeking to further increase our presence in Mid and Southern England.
We are looking for an experienced Arboricultural Consultant with the confidence and ability to lead and co-ordinate projects, and with an enthusiasm for business growth and development.
Your regional TEP office would be in Market Harborough but we anticipate flexibility with home working as well as the opportunity to visit TEPs other offices as project, social events or training priorities dictate. For the right candidate we would be willing to consider a home base in most parts of the Midlands. We can also make office space available full-time if preferred.
Although we are largely home based at the moment, our team is engaged on a number of interesting and challenging projects across the country. These projects comprise residential and commercial schemes, linear infrastructure projects, Tree Management Strategies, Tree Risk Assessment and Arboricultural Clerk of Works.
We envisage that this will be a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), although we are willing to consider flexible working arrangements, including part time working.

Preferred SkillsThe role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is open to new opportunities and innovative ways of working. You would sit within our 11-strong team of arboricultural experts, offering involvement in projects ranging from small scale risk assessment up to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. You would also work alongside TEP’s ecologists, landscape designers, land managers and environmental planners to build on our strength as a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
We are looking for a committed professional who can demonstrate the application of BS 5837 and tree risk assessment, and who takes a pro-active and positive approach to project leadership. We need a team player who is versatile and experienced in collaborating with a range of other professionals; someone who enjoys developing strong relationships with clients, acting as the day-to-day contact, and trusted to deliver high quality work.
We are looking for someone to help us grow the arboricultural team. Using your experience you will generate new work through bids and targeted marketing, building a network of clients who regularly generate project opportunities. In this role there is the opportunity for continued self-progression and managerial responsibilities for the right candidate.
Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
