Activate Learning are currently seeking a creative and motivated land-based Arboriculture/Machinery teacher to join our existing team based at Merrist Wood College in Surrey.

This post will be a full-time, permanent contract to co-ordinate and deliver effective Arborist tutorials to a diverse group of learners attending full time, part time and short courses. Along with your flexible approach to deliver innovative lessons, managing caseload, collating information and research to ensure you are delivering purposeful and constructive lessons consistently, you will also be require to liaise with internal partners, external organisations to ensure we are meeting needs of our students at all times.

Whilst, ideally, we are offering this role on a full-time basis, we are willing to accept part time applications and will consider this role as a job share opportunity too.

About you and what do you need to be successful?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification at level 3 or above and extensive industry knowledge.

Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
