Team Leader (Arboriculture) Job in North Tyneside
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced person with the necessary skills to effectively lead, supervise, plan, organise and deploy employees for all day-to-day delivery of arboriculture services in line with the Council’s expectations and standards.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive approach to teamwork and co-operation. You will need to be solution focused and have the ability to adhere to health and safety risk assessments and operating procedures.
Managing the council’s team of skilled arborists, you will be responsible for the delivery of practical tree works in accordance with the Tree Management Policy, industry best practice, British Standards, safety standards and all other relevant legislation. You will also deal with day-to-day enquiries linked to the tree works programme and maintenance of the borough’s waggonways.
Working closely with the Council’s Tree Asset Manager, around the delivery of maintenance to the tree stock, you will ensure the Council fulfils its statutory duties with regard to tree management, including the effective and defensible management of tree risk; ‘biodiversity duty’; and the possible applicability of other duties to tree management such as under the Equality Act and Highways Act.
You will need to be able to work independently and use your own initiative to engage with stakeholders, elected members, residents, resident groups, and other statutory bodies.
