The Forestry and Arboriculture division consists of 20 consultants working across the breadth of the country to deliver five main client services:
1. Arboricultural consultancy
2. Woodland management/consultancy
3. New woodland creation
4. Felling license and grant applications
5. Forest valuation

About the jobCome and work as part of the Savills Forestry and Arboriculture discipline, providing advice to colleagues within Savills and external clients, on all aspects of arboricultural management including but not limited to tree condition and BS5837 surveys, tree risk management plans, risk zoning, amenity tree care as well as overseeing the delivery of remedial work.
Our clients range from large private estates through to institutions, local authorities to charities and blue chip companies to farmers. We could be providing advice on pruning a TPO tree, drafting a tree risk management plan for a 10,000 acre estate or contributing to planning application via an arboricultural impact assessment and full BS5837 survey. The work and location is very varied.
Whilst the role will focus more on arboricultural advice, some understanding of forestry/woodland management would be beneficial.
There is huge opportunity to grow the business, so experience in and proven track record of business development would also be desirable. Part of the role will involve working closely with colleagues in other disciplines such as planning, development, rural management, natural capital and leisure to deliver work our service lines. There will be a need to travel to other offices within the region.
The Central (Oxford/Cirencester) role is an extension of the existing Central/South region Forestry and Arboriculture team, which comprises of 6 consultants and our team co-ordinator. This role will be to lead the further expansion of our existing work and in-time, the team in the Central region. This role requires strong technical and business skills and would suit a more experienced consultant.
The South east (Sevenoaks/Petworth/Winchester) role is to support the existing Senior Arboricultural Consultant in the delivery of an exciting and growing portfolio of work across the South East.

Preferred SkillsThe successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least 2 years in a similar role
- Level 5 or above qualification in Arboriculture
- LANTRA PTI qualification
- Strong communications skills
- Good IT and GIS experience
- Established business development skills
- Great stakeholder engagement
