Our Tree Diagnostics team are specialists in further investigations including Tomography, Tree Stability, Tree Radar, Thermal imaging.

We undertake BS5837 surveys, Risk assessments, Population surveys, Arboricultural Health and safety audits, Tree valuations and more!

About the job

Barnes Associates Ltd based in North Yorkshire is looking to appoint a qualified Arboriculturalist surveyor on a full-time contract.

Salary is subject to Bonus payments.

The role offers a diverse variety of Arboricultural surveying which will include undertaking surveys, offering professional advice and preparing reports in relation to:
• BS5837:2012
• Individual population surveys /
Walkthrough tree risk assessments
• Further investigations of tree
defects

Barnes Associates Ltd are one of the few companies in the North of England that offer advanced investigations of tree defects using tools and equipment such as:

• Sonic and Electrical Tomography
• Tree stability testing
• Tree vitality testing
• Root detection using ground-
penetrating radar ‘Tree Radar’ and
air excavation

Interest in learning about these tools will be essential - (full technical training will be provided).

The successful applicant will undergo inhouse training.

Preferred Skills

We are looking for someone who ideally has:

• A minimum of Level 5 (FdSc)
Arboriculture (Or nearing completion
with industry experience)
• Tree risk assessment experience
• A good understanding of
arboriculture and its associating
laws, trees and development
(BS5837), TPO legislation and tree
management
• Experience in producing detailed
plan-based and written reports
• Good knowledge of VTA and tree
biomechanics
• Good working knowledge of tree
identification, tree pests and
diseases identification
• A full driving licence
• Excellent computer skills in the use
of Word and Excel - Basic use of
AutoCAD a bonus.
• Qualified in accessing a tree using a
rope and harness/aerial rescue
operations
• Flexible, hard-working with
occasional working away
