Arboricultural Officer Job In Norwich
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the county capital, situated in a beautiful part of the East of England.
Supported by the lead arboricultural officer you will be responsible for the provision of an efficient, effective and customer focused tree management service for all trees in the council’s control; to ensure that the council meets its statutory obligations and contributing to the delivery of our corporate priorities.
As an arboricultural professional you will be responsible for surveying, recording and specifying works for the management of the council owned tree stock. Your work will involve working in partnership with Norwich City Services Ltd, the council’s wholly owned company who carry out the work specified. You will lead on the selection and purchase of suitable species of trees for the council tree planting programmes. You will become part of our friendly Parks and Open Spaces Team and have opportunities to work with colleagues from across the council and external partners.
Preferred Skills
The minimum qualification required is RQF Level 3 (such as Tech Cert or Diploma in Arboriculture) and a Lantra Professional Tree Inspector qualification is preferred.
You will have a passion for trees and have significant experience in a comparable customer focussed role involving tree risk assessment and specifying work to recommended industry standards. Extensive knowledge of tree species and associated pests and diseases is essential. The ability to contribute to the success and development of the team, as well as forward planning and organising your work to meet deadlines is a must.
