Harcourt Arboretum is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Arborist to join our Arboriculture team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work within one of the UK’s finest tree collections, spread over 130 acres of historic and Picturesque landscape. As a Junior Arborist, you will play a crucial part in the ongoing maintenance, development, and enhancement of the Arboretum, ensuring the highest arboricultural standards are met. You will collaborate closely with the Arboretum Curator and Arboricultural Supervisor to maintain and improve our diverse plant collection. You will participate in creating outstanding arboricultural displays and natural amenities, including the care of trees, shrubs, and meadow grasslands. You will engage with the broader Arboretum team, including the Education Team, to contribute to educational activities and public events. You will assist with delivering tours and educational programs to various audiences, including trainees and volunteers.
Preferred Skills

• NPTC CS30.1 – Maintenance of a Chainsaw
• NPTC CS30.2 – Crosscut & Stack Using a Chainsaw
• NPTC CS31 – Fell & Process Small Trees
• NPTC CS38 – Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
• NPTC CS39 – Use of a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness
