About the job

This role involves; surveying electrical networks, carrying out detailed tree surveys and inspections, gaining customer permissions, completing risk assessments and method statements for utility arboriculture works, completing requests for traffic management, SSSI assent requests, TPO work requests and communicating with customers and working parties to ensure efficient and well-organised completion of projects on behalf of our customers and partners.

Suitable applicants should have a keen interest in the environment and arboriculture and be willing to expand upon their knowledge and develop new skills. 

For the correct applicant, we can offer a competitive rate of pay at above industry average salaries, with the potential of day rate pay, and span rates. We are recruiting for surveyors in the Reading/Oxford area. As a company, we have the potential for surveyors in many areas of the UK.

 

An example week for a surveyor would consist of 4 days per week on-site surveying and 1-day remote office-based, although this is subject to change and is task and location-dependent.

Specific surveying qualifications are not necessary however, thorough administrative organisation skills and a willingness to learn are required.

UA qualifications and previous experience desirable but not necessary.

  • Providing a professional service to customers
  • To meet agreed-on targets and performance standards
  • Regular audits by managers of completed works to ensure quality and safety.
  • Training opportunities to continually improve upon utility arboriculture skills and personal development
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tree pests and diseases
  • Maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment in line with company policy.
  • Completion and maintenance of necessary training qualifications
  • Surveying tasks on all voltages and the ability to be flexible to meet the requirements of our customers.

Beneficial Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Customer service and past sales experience would also be an advantage
  • Experience in any surveying field.

Preferred Skills

Required Skills:

  • IT literate, MS Office programs, GIS, Ability to learn and understand survey software
  • Use of mobile computing devices
  • Use of visual tree assessment techniques
  • The use of sounding hammers, laser measurement devices, and other surveying equipment (preferred but not essential)
  • Full UK drivers licence and right to work in the UK.
