The Role

Operations and Greenspace are responsible for the delivery of a number of important front line functions relating to arboriculture, countryside, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and playground services.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Arboricultural Unit’s operational team. The position will be as an Arborist / Driver to work as part of a team to carry out tree management works across the borough, under the supervision of the Arboricultural Chargehand. The main duties will be tree climbing and pruning operations, work from an access platform, tree felling, driving relevant vehicles, traffic management and the operation and maintenance of all associated equipment.

 

About You

You will have previous experience of working as a fully qualified climbing arborist and hold a full UK driving license. A C1+E heavy goods license and Mechanically Elevated Work Platform certificate would also be desirable. The successful candidate must be able to work well as part of a team and have good communication skills to interact with the general public.

 

Working hours would be a set 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. As part of this role the successful candidate would also be expected to participate, periodically, in the Council’s 24 hour emergency call out rota.
