NRE Services is a successful, reputable utility arborist company based in Maidstone. It operates throughout the Southeast and is looking for experienced, full-time, self-employed utility arborists to join its growing business.
Alongside our conventional workload, NRE Services undertakes specialist works, including rigging and large takedown operations with Merlo roto and grapple saws. We offer a friendly and varied working environment along with development opportunities and excellent rates of pay.
The right candidate will have an excellent attitude and work ethic. Time-keeping, presentation, and high standards are essential. You will be expected to work effectively in a team, communicate well and use technology.
Preferred Skills
Due to the nature of the high-risk activities, we expect all candidates to have good knowledge and experience with a wide range of qualifications. We offer excellent training and development opportunities to further enhance your competence.
The following competencies are mandatory and must be in date:
- Team leaders experience an advantage
- Candidates must hold a current, full UK Driving License
- UA1 / 301 Basic Electrical Awareness
- UA2 / 302 Tree Species Recognition
- UA2.1 and UA 2.2 / 303 Ground-Based Pruning
- UA2.3 / 304 Aerial Pruning
- CS31 Cross Cutting and Small Felling
- CS38 Aerial Rescue
- CS47 or 306 Chainsaw from a MEWP
- Chipper
- IPAF
- First Aid
Must be able to pass a DBS check and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
Benefits Offered
- £30,000 to £55,000 (£115 to £211 per day) depending on experience and paid on a monthly basis.
- Normal Working Hours are 0700 to 1600, Monday to Friday
- Regular stand-by, weekend, and out-of-hours work is available at premium rates.

Qualifications All the members of our team are fully qualified and have the necessary NPTC accredited certificates (CS 30, 31, 38 & 39) relating to: Basic Chainsaw use; Felling; Climbing & Aerial Rescue; Use of a Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness – which are required to carry out day-to-day tree work alongside current Industry based First Aid certificates. Some of our additional qualifications include: NEBOSH General, IOSH Managing Safely, NPTC’s 32, 40, 41, 45, 47, 48, UA1,UA2.1,UA2.2,UA2.3, UA3, UA5, Dedicated Observer, MEWP & IPAF licenses (powered access machinery); CSCS card holders Risk Assessment and Method Statements Before we start work on a job a site a specific risk assessment is carried out to identify any hazards and reduce risk. We can also produce method statements explaining how the work is going to be undertaken at each stage (if required). All Health & Safety documentation is developed by a Health & Safety Professional.
