Charnwood’s busy Development Management team processes in excess of 2,500 planning applications each year of all types, with a vison to improve the economy, quality of life and environment as set out in our adopted Development Plan.

The Opportunity

You will take the lead role in all tree related matters, including assessing trees for protection, processing applications and appeals, and providing specialist advice and guidance to Development Management colleagues, enforcement team, the public and Councillors.

You will need to have experience of assessing trees for Tree Preservation Orders, and a solid understanding of relevant arboriculture legislation.

Who are we looking for?

You will need to be a team player with a positive approach, willing to contribute to the delivery of transformational change and continuous improvement to secure excellent customer service. You will be able to place the customer at the heart of the business and develop excellent working relationships with elected representatives, partners and stakeholders. You will have a Degree or Diploma in a related field or substantial experience of working in a regulatory arena relating to trees and their protection, with membership of an appropriate professional body.
