About this opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Arboriculture Team Leader to grow and develop our Arboriculture team as part of our ambitious and forward-thinking environmental consultancy.

As Team Leader you will be involved in implementing the strategy for developing our Arboriculture offering as well as leading, growing and managing our team of Arboriculturists.

This important position is ideal for someone currently working as a Team Leader, or an ambitious Associate Director or Principal Consultant who is now ready to advance their career. Whether you are looking to develop your own knowledge or impart your years of experience to others, you will be doing so with an award-winning environmental consultancy known for doing great work.

As Team Leader you will work with the Ecus Senior Leadership Team to implement our vision for the growth and development of the Arboriculture team through recruitment and technical leadership as well as client and project management. You will also work with other discipline leads on strategic multi-disciplinary proposals and lead delivery of projects for both internal and external clients on a growing portfolio of projects.

Preferred Skills

Essential Skills / Experience

  • A minimum of Level 3 Arboricultural qualification (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience of preparing proposals and contributing to large-scale multi-disciplinary bids
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Experience of managing a team of Arboriculturists
  • Extensive experience of writing tree works specification and report writing.
  • Proficient tree identification skills
  • In-depth understanding of arboriculture that includes delivering BS5837 development related surveys
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCad or similar and a willingness to be trained in the use of QArb software, BricsCAD, OTISS data capture and GIS
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing for effective working relationships with colleagues and clients to be built / maintained
  • Hold an industry recognised tree assessment qualification such as Professional Inspection Certificate PTI or QTRA
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage own workload to meet client deadlines.
  • Ability to travel nationwide
