Ascerta is an established, forward-thinking consultancy providing integrated services across landscape architecture, arboriculture, and ecology. We’re seeking an experienced Arboricultural Surveyor to join our arboricultural team.

This is a core role in our business, offering the opportunity to be part of the future of our arboricultural services while working on diverse, high-profile projects across the UK.

The Role

As an Arboricultural Surveyor, you'll be at the forefront of our arboricultural department, gathering site data to a high degree of accuracy in accordance with BS5837. You’ll also undertake tree risk management surveys, woodland management surveys as well as liaison with our in-house teams of arboriculturists, ecologists and landscape architects.

This is a home-based role with the ideal candidate being located around the north midlands / north west England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver BS5837, Tree Risk Management  & woodland surveys.
  • Produce Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Coordinate with clients, local authorities, and planning teams.
  • Work closely with ecology and landscape teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Preferred Skills

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven arboricultural survey experience.
  • A thorough understanding of BS5837, tree biology and risk management.
  • A client-focused, solutions-driven mindset.
  • A collaborative approach to working.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Level 4 or higher arboricultural qualification.
  • LANTRA PTI desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of arboriculture, planning, and development.
  • Experience using GIS and tree survey software is advantageous.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
