Aim of Role:
Your role will be to effectively support your team through the day-to-day activities, ensuring that the requirements of the client and the job specification are fully met for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of the site, employees and visitors. You will provide support to the Team Leader in relation to the team compliance of company procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage your attendance via the TMS system; report any absences/ holidays to your line manager
- To have a general understanding and knowledge of the client’s contractual terms and conditions.
- To effectively support your team and ensure that activities and tasks are undertaken to the highest possible safety standards and in accordance with the contractual terms and KPIs.
- To support and work as part of the team with the aim of ensuring productive working relationships within the team, with other site employees, managers, clients, members of the public and end users.
- To ensure that hand/ power tools and all arboriculture, machinery and vehicles for your team are kept in good working order and stored safely and securely. Ensuring that all routine maintenance is carried out and escalate any major technical problems to the Assistant/ Contract Manager or the workshop.
- To liaise with the client in a professional manner, handling any issues and requests efficiently and in accordance with company procedure and policies.
- Support and assist with arboriculture projects, where appropriate.
- Provide a supportive and visible presence for your team, the client and end users.
- Set a positive example to others by complying with all company and site procedures and regulations.
- The above list of job duties is not exhaustive, and other ad hoc duties may be required.
- Build and sustain productive relationships within teams, with clients, the public, and external agencies.
- Out of hours emergency call out rota for additional renumeration.
- Support general operational duties as required across your area of responsibility.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Perform daily vehicle checks, prestart checks and SSRA
- Ensure the team is equipped with relevant safety items; First Aid, fuel, safety kits, documentation.
- Resident liaison and handling signage, resident notifications
Preferred Skills
Relevant Qualification and Training:
(Ideally one or more of the qualifications listed below, dependent upon site or contract)
- Brushwood Chipper operations (NPTC) or Lantra
- CS30 – Maintain The Chainsaw
- CS31 - Fell Small Trees
- CS38 – Climb Trees & perform Aerial rescue
- CS39 – Operate the chainsaw from a rope & harness
- Level 3 Forestry+F First Aid
- Chapter 8 Signing, Lighting and Guarding
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in arboriculture
- Practical use of arboriculture machinery
- A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationship within a team environment as well as the ability and initiative to work alone.
- Aptitude to communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the public.
- Holds valid driving licence preferably with legal and practical ability to use a trailer (Preferred)
- Comfortable using Mobile Field Solution MFS – (Tablet)
