We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Arboricultural Officer with a solid understanding of arboriculture, including risk management, contractor oversight, trees in relation to planning, and strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the councils’ tree stock in collaboration with contractors and surveyors.
- Respond promptly to enquiries about the councils’ tree stock.
- Consider, recommend and action new TPO proposals; assess and determine TPO applications and conservation area notifications.
- Provide consultation responses for development applications.
- Work within a specialist, customer-focused team, reporting to the Head of Development Services.

About You:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A relevant qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent experience.
- Experience with planning controls and regulations related to trees.
- Strong knowledge of planning law and procedures concerning trees.
- Proficiency in IT tools, including Word, Excel, and industry-specific software.
- Excellent written communication skills for clear, concise reporting.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
