Based in the heart of West Sussex, Wiston Estate is a rural estate which comprises a number of enterprises. The estate covers 6,000 acres of land, with some 1,200 acres of woodland, 14 farms, 2,000 acres of pasture and over 100 homes. It is also one of the UK’s most awarded sparkling wine producers, and home to Chalk Restaurant and shop where wine tours and tastings operate. This role will sit in the forestry team and link into the estate’s wider principles and purpose – to foster a rural meeting place where people, nature and enterprises coexist and flourish. The estate believes strongly in investing in people, maximising our resources, championing fresh thinking and extending a generous welcome to all who come to the estate.

Preferred Skills

Minimum 2 years forestry or tree work experience
– Competent and experienced with a chainsaw relevant ground-based chainsaw qualifications (cs 30/31 minimum)
– Experience driving tractors or other forestry related machines
– Strong communication skills with demonstrable experience
– Organised and outstanding attention to detail
– Full drivers’ license (due to rural location)
– Full right to work in the UK
