Careers in arboriculture

Considering a career in tree work?

Within the tree care industry there are jobs from groundsman through to consultants. The hands-on work tends to be very physical requiring a high level of safety compliance. By comparison the technical side covering tree surveying, consultancy or working as an authority tree officer tend to have a more administrative base.

Salaries range from trainees at £15K to consultants who can earn in excess of £40K plus per annum.

Arboriculture can be very rewarding from planning and managing new tree projects to removing old and dangerous trees or creating enviromental habitats the work and job roles can be very varied.

Tree work is also an international vocation so once qualified you may be able to travel with your work. Arbjobs regularly has vacancies coming up in both Australia and Europe.

A wide range of Colleges offer course in Arboriculture from School leavers Further Education to Higher Education, technical and short courses to meet your needs. Some even offer residential courses allowing clients (students) to live and study on campus.
