BCA College is one of the UK’s leading trainers of arborists and land-based professionals. Set within a beautiful 400-acre campus in Berkshire, BCA provides the ideal environment for students to learn, practice, and thrive in real-world outdoor settings.
With a proud history dating back to 1949, BCA has been at the heart of land-based education and training for over 75 years. The college’s dedicated Skills Coaches bring a wealth of industry experience, ensuring every apprentice gains the technical knowledge, safety awareness, and confidence needed to succeed in the arboriculture sector.
The Level 2 Arborist Apprenticeship at BCA continues to grow from strength to strength. The group includes a fantastic mix of new employer partners joining for the first time and returning companies continuing to invest in their teams.
Training begins with Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance, setting a strong foundation for safe and skilled working practices.
Learners then progress to Tree Identification, an essential skill for anyone in arboriculture. Meanwhile, second-year apprentices are prepared for their End Point Assessments, completing both written and practical components as they move closer to qualification.
BCA’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its success stories — including a recent graduate from the Kew Gardens Tree Gang who was invited to attend the 11th International Oak Society Conference in Mexico — a testament to the high standards and opportunities that BCA apprentices achieve.
