Principal Arboricultural Consultant (Planning) - Home Based

We are a North-West based, but nationwide, consultancy looking to expand with two new roles as a result of securing a number of new contracts.

The company is looking for a Principal Arboricultural Consultant (Planning) and a Tree Surveyor. Although we are based in the North West your “office” can be anywhere with Wi-Fi

We are looking for an experienced straight talking Arboricultural Consultant with a head for surveys and a strong customer focussed ethos.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carrying out BS5837 surveys and preparing the associated technical reports
• Advising clients on tree constraints, mitigation strategies, and planning matters
• Producing Tree Protection Plans, Arboricultural Impact Assessments, and Method Statements
• Liaising confidently with planners, architects, and project teams
• Travelling to sites when necessary, across the UK
• Working closely with our aboriculture, ecology and landscape colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.

Preferred Skills

• A Level 5+ qualification in Arboriculture (or relevant experience)
• Approximately 5 years in consultancy working within the planning field
• A valid UK driving licence and the ability to occasionally work away for an evening or two.

Bonus points if:

• You’ve used AutoCAD and QGIS
• You’re comfortable managing projects solo or mentoring juniors
• You have the ability to discuss matters with a client without jargon
