General Manager – Tree Service Company

We are a growing, well-established tree service company in Jacksonville, Florida, committed to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. As our business expands, we are seeking a General Manager to oversee all aspects of daily operations and help drive continued growth.
Position Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all areas of the business, including sales, financial performance, staff leadership, fleet management, and customer service. This role requires a strong leader with proven management experience, business acumen, and the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations across the company, including office staff, field crews, mechanics, and fleet.
Lead, coach, and manage a team of 12 full-time employees to achieve company goals.
Drive tree service sales and maintain strong customer relationships.
Manage financial performance, including budgeting, Profit & Loss oversight, and cost controls.
Ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency in all aspects of the business.
Oversee fleet, equipment, and facility maintenance.
Develop and implement strategies for growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Proven leadership and management experience (preferably in tree service, landscaping, construction, or a related field).
Strong financial management skills, including P&L accountability.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead diverse teams, balance priorities, and deliver results.
Knowledge of fleet, equipment, and production operations preferred.

Leadership & Team Management – proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team (field crews, office staff, mechanics, and sales).
Business & Financial Acumen – experience managing Profit & Loss statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Sales & Customer Relations – ability to drive service sales, maintain strong client relationships, and represent the company professionally.
Operational Management – knowledge of fleet, equipment, and production scheduling to ensure efficiency and safety.
Safety & Compliance – understanding of OSHA standards and industry safety best practices.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – strong analytical and practical judgment in day-to-day operations.
Communication Skills – excellent verbal and written skills for coordinating with staff, clients, and leadership.
Organizational Skills – ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results on time.
Industry Knowledge (Preferred) – experience in tree service, landscaping, construction, or a similar industry with heavy equipment and field operations.
