Mechanical Vegetation Solutions Pty Ltd (MVS) supply contract services for arboriculture (tree surgery and removals), large scale weed management, fire break maintenance and fuel reduction services, environmental maintenance, waterway and wetland dredging, dewatering and maintenance and commercial on site grinding services.

Our services have applications in many sectors including:

Arboriculture, Forestry Industry, Agricultural, Civil Construction, Transport, State Government and Municipalities, Mining, Electrical Supply, National Parks and Wildlife Services and private landholders

MVS is certified to ISO 14001 Environmental, ISO 9001 Quality & AS/NZS 4801 Safety. All MVS equipment has been fully risk assessed and our operators have been trained, assessed and certified against our safe operating procedures. All heavy machinery is fully guarded and has R.O.P.S. and F.O.P.S. protection to comply with industry standards.

About the job

Based in Adelaide, Mechanical Vegetation Solutions is an established and well respected provider of arboricultural and civil services to Government, Councils, Civil development, Commercial and private clients.

Due to expansion and growth we are looking for plant operators who are motivated self-starters, highly organised and have a passion for the industry, as we do. The right applicant will also receive a service ute.

Plant Operator positions using plant with unique vegetation attachments are available due to growth and upcoming contract work. Staff at MVS enjoy a fast paced, varied and exciting environment with the opportunity to progress.

Preferred Skills

Excellent communication to both internal and external clients
Licences, or willingness to obtain, for relevant plant operation including:
Excavator
Loader/ skidsteer / backhoe
Forwarder
Harvester
Tractor and attachments
Excellent time management skills
Problem solving through complex matters
Perform minor mechanical maintenance/repairs as required
Coordinate movement of equipment or material across multiple sites
Ability to prioritise competing tasks
CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White card)
High risk licences – crane , hoist, dogging, rigging etc, where operation of this equipment is required.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

Ability to read and interpret site maps and plans
Experience with Job scheduling software (Simpro)
Experience with safety management software (SkyTrust)
Senior First Aid training
Commitment to continuous improvement
Special conditions of the role:

Regular intrastate travel is a requirement of this role.
As a condition of this role you must provide or be willing to obtain a police check or other background check such as Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP).
In line with MVS drug and alcohol policy, you may be required to submit to a test if requested.
As a condition of this role, you must provide evidence of your current COVID vaccination status. MVS employees are required to be fully vaccinated (double dose) to enter customer sites.
