We are offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join us as we look to expand our existing team.

The company is based in between Maidstone and Rochester in Kent and is easily accessible by both the M20 and M2 motorways.

We are looking for:

Grounds Person

What you will be doing:

  • Make sure drop zones of the tree climbers are clear to stop Staff and members of the public entering these zones using cones and signs.
  • Collect debris and refuse from tree trimming and removal operations into piles, using shovels, rakes or other tools.
  • Clear sites, streets, and grounds of woody and herbaceous materials, such as tree stumps and fallen trees and limbs.
  • Make sure site is left clean and safe
  • Defining the staging area and safe zones on the jobsite and laying out the tools for the job.
  • Filling equipment with petrol or diesel while being mindful of safe handling of fuels.
  • Carrying out the duties of a banksman: keep your eyes on the ground and to be aware of site safety such as falling timber, MEWPS, Tractors/flail, flying debris and members of the public.
  • The Grounds Person should also have sound knowledge of:

 

Chain Saw Blade Sharpening & Maintenance

Chipper operation & Maintenance

All PPE, tools and vehicles should be maintained to a good standard.

 

  • Be responsible for taking the correct PPE and tools to site.
  • Be able to understand job risk assessment
  • Provide essential support to climbers, tidying ropes, passing equipment up to the climber etc

Preferred Skills

  • CS30,31,38
  • Full driving licence.
  • All experience levels considered
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Efficient organisation and good time management
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to adapt to situations as they change
  • Happy to work outside in all weathers
