What you'll be doing

  • Planning for the future by conducting cyclical and reactive surveys across our entire estate, assessing health, species and condition
  • Making informed decisions about tree care and maintenance, judging the impacts of disease, pests, structural defects and human impact, always looking for ways to preserve and enhance our tree stock
  • Managing our tree database using Ezytreev software and GIS, recording precise species and health data and prioritising works based on genuine risk assessment and estate functionality
  • Managing all planning application requirements and correspondence
  • Working with contractors to deliver all arboricultural works to best industry standards and ensuring best value for our customers
  • Responding to resident/stakeholder queries and concerns about trees, helping them understand the benefits trees bring to their communities
  • Leading tree planting and wider green infrastructure projects ensuring successful establishment and aftercare
  • Identifying opportunities to increase biodiversity and create better wildlife habitats across our estates

More about you

We're looking for someone with genuine passion for trees and the environment who can balance preservation with practical risk management. You'll be proactive and self-motivated, comfortable making decisions independently in a role that combines office-based planning with outdoor surveying work.

Essential:

  • LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) qualification
  • Post-qualification experience in arboriculture or tree management
  • Excellent tree identification skills and knowledge of pests and diseases
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Strong communication skills for working with residents and contractors

Desirable:

  • Level 3 in Arboriculture (or equivalent)
  • Experience with tree database systems and GIS
  • Membership of the Arboricultural Association or similar
  • Evidence of continued professional development
